Dr. Taimoor Khan
Associate Professor, Electronics and Communications Engineering Department at NIT Silchar
Dr. Taimoor Khan received his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Patna in 2014. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Silchar, India. With over 14 years of experience, including time at Delhi Technological University, he has actively contributed to research areas such as Ambient RF Energy Harvesting, Machine Learning for Electromagnetics, Ultra-Wideband Antenna Technologies, Electromagnetic Bandgap Structures, and Dielectric Resonator Antennas. Dr. Khan's achievements include the prestigious IETE Professor SVC Aiya Memorial Award in 2020 for excellence in guiding electromagnetic and microwave engineering. He has successfully supervised seven Ph.D. theses, published 78 international journal articles, 56 international conference articles, holds three Indian patents, and authored two edited books. Additionally, he has led multiple funded projects and is currently involved in international laborations with Queen’s University Canada and California State University, Northridge. As a recognized professional, Dr. Khan is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, and the Antenna Test and Measurement Society (ATMS). He holds Senior Memberships in IEEE, IEEE AP Society, IEEE MTT Society, and URSI Belgium. Dr. Khan serves as an Associate Editor for IET Electronic Letters, Associate Editor for Hindawi-Wiley’s International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer Aided Engineering, and Section Editor for IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Khan is actively involved in IEEE initiatives, founding the IEEE MTT Society SBC at NIT Silchar, IEEE Silchar Subsection, and chairing SILCON Conference (2022 and 2023). He also holds leadership roles as a Regional Coordinator for IEEE AP-S Chapter Activity Committee, IEEE AP-S Paper Awards Subcommittee, and IEEE AP-S Chapter Award Committee for 2023.
